What began as a fun family activity in Forest Park, a set of neighborhood courts in their native Springfield, Mass., became a lifetime love affair with the game of tennis for the Mayotte family. John, Chris, Tim and Mary Mayotte were as dominant on the court as they are visible advocates for the sport off of it. John was a top-ranked junior in the 14s, 16s and 18s and later was a Top 10 performer in the men’s ranks. Chris was a two-time All-American at the University of South Carolina and enjoyed a career on the ATP tour. Tim Mayotte was an accomplished junior player who later took his game to Stanford University. He won a silver medal representing the United States in the 1988 Olympic Games and later turned in a stellar professional career. He was inducted into the USTA New England Hall of Fame in 1996. Mary Mayotte was also a star junior player and is still active in the game, participating in several mother-daughter tournaments.
